Creating Managed Metadata Columns in a blank site

If you created a new site using the blank site template and went to add a Managed Metadata site column, you may have got the following:

The required feature (TaxonomyFieldAdded) is hidden, so you need to activate it manually.

Either of these commands will do the trick:

stsadm.exe -o activatefeature -name taxonomyFieldAdded -url <site url> -force

or

stsadm.exe -o activatefeature -id 73EF14B1-13A9-416b-A9B5-ECECA2B0604C -url <site url> –force
